The project was a large extension to a manufacturing facility for TAKAO. The plant produced pressed car body components for various car manufacturers. The requirement included the provision of an additional 1800T press and 2No 600T presses with associated press pits and underground tunnels, 7m deep, housing conveyors to recycle scrap ‘punched’ material. An additional 3No cranes up to 21T capacity were also required.
ABA were appointed by Shimizu Construction (Design and Build Contractor) to provide site investigation, superstructure, substructure and external works design.
- The superstructure is a multi bay portal frame of varying heights to suit craneage clearance requirements.
- External works included large loading and despatch yard, access road and below ground drainage.
